University | 4 Easy Ways To Boost Your UCAS Points
Updated: Sep 29, 2020
At Tech Tutors, we have come up with 4 simple ways you can boost your UCAS points to help you to gain entry to your chosen university or achieve a scholarship. If you would like to know more about how the UCAS tariff system works, read our blog here.

1. Take an extra A-level or AS-level
One way to boost your UCAS points is to take an additional A-level or AS-level. If you are already performing well in your current A-levels, why not look to add an additional A-level or AS-level? Talk to your college about courses that are possible with your timetable.

2. Study for a Level 3 Diploma, Certificate or Award in your spare time
Do you have a hobby that you are interested in developing in your spare time? Enrol on a distance learning course or evening class at your local college to boost your UCAS points. For example, the NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Photography is worth 60 points, or 120 if you do the full diploma.

3. Gain UCAS points by playing a musical instrument
Do you play a musical instrument? If you do, you’ll be pleased to know that the exams you do will give you extra UCAS points from Grade 6 upwards.

4. Volunteer in your local community
Volunteering is something that not only gains you more UCAS points and looks good on your CV for future employers, but is a great way to help your community and develop skills. You can gain up to 50 extra UCAS points and help out a good cause by taking an ASDAN Community Volunteering Qualification.
