The following lists have been ranked in order of Grade 5+ at GCSE (correct at time of writing). Even though this is a list of the top 20 grammar schools in Kent, that doesn't mean that any one of these schools is actually the best fit for your child. All of these schools have outstanding attributes, and one might argue GCSE grades above 5+ might not be the most important factor when choosing a compatible school for your child.

Highworth Grammar School is a selective secondary school (grammar school) in Ashford, Kent. The school also admits boys to the sixth form. At an Ofsted inspection in June 2013, the school was rated 1 (outstanding) in all categories.
Highworth Grammar School is a selective school of over 1,519 pupils, of whom over 450 are in the Sixth Form, which admits both boys and girls. The school was established in 1904 and moved to its present site in 1928. Since that time there has been a considerable amount of rebuilding and expansion. From 1954 to 1982, the school was called Dartford Technical High School. Today, it is a specialist engineering school with a strong emphasis on design technology, mathematics and physics.

Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar School is a single-sex voluntary controlled grammar school in Canterbury, Kent, England. The school originated in the Middle Ages as an educational foundation for children in Canterbury, emerging as a separate school for girls in 1881. Its brother school is Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys which resides a mere half mile away.
The school is 'selective' in its intake, with prospective Year 7 students having to take the Kent Procedure for Entrance to Secondary Education ("eleven-plus") examination. Around 180 new students are accepted every year at age 11, and around 60 students every year join the sixth form from other schools. 2010 saw the successful introduction of boys into the sixth form.

Founded as a technical school in 1956, TWGSB became a grammar school in 1982.

Chatham Grammar School for Girls ("CGSG") is a girls grammar school with academy status and a mixed sixth form. In September 2017 it became a member school of the University of Kent Academies Trust (UKAT), joined with another secondary school, Brompton Academy.
Since 2019 it has described itself as Chatham Grammar School on its website and signage, reflecting the presence of boys on the sixth form roll.
The school is in Medway in Kent, on the Rainham Road (A2), just inside the parish of St Augustine, Gillingham on the Chatham – Gillingham boundary.

From the 2017-18 academic year, the school planned to become co-educational and remain selective in the lower school. This was blocked - and later approved - by the Department for Education with co-educational admission desired for the 2018/19 school year. The school has changed name in advance of becoming co-educational and plans to change all references from "Chatham Grammar School for Boys" to "Holcombe Grammar School" over academic year 2016/17.
