Special Educational Needs | Tuition for Students with ADHD
Updated: Sep 29, 2020
Our tutors are very experienced at supporting children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Here are some of the techniques we use to keep our students engaged during their lessons.

Keep it positive
Like all learners, students need to experience success. We set SMART goals and praise them when they meet that target. We also share their success with their parents.
Clear and concise
Our tutors ensure they deliver instructions in a clear and concise manner. If the instructions are complex, they will break them up into smaller parts.
Regular breaks
For students with ADHD, concentrating for hours on end is extremely difficult. Our tutors break the lesson into manageable sections with small breaks between. Making a cup of tea, or having a quick walk around the garden are great ways to release energy and get them ready for their next part of their lesson.
Clean environment
We want an orderly environment, and so will the learner. The environment should be clean and clear of clutter and distractions. We will make sure they turn off the radio and the television so they can maintain their focus.
See the signs
If an ADHD learner is starting to experience stress, there is usually a physical representation of this. Our tutors respond by allowing them to get up, take a break and let off steam.
